These Bokhara & Kilim Carpets are unique pieces of world art that will enhance your living space. Made of 100-percent wool, and pure vegetable dyes. These rugs have a multicolored geometric pattern. Story Behind the Art: Kilims are known as pile-less, flat-weave floor coverings, which are achieved by interweaving various colors of the vertical and horizontal strands of the kilim. Due to the handmade nature of our kilims, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your kilim looking new for years to come. Bokhara rugs are famous around the globe for their luxurious velvety texture, never-fading colors, and age-old traditional patterns that have a tendency to blend in will all kinds of décor. The most distinctive feature of fine quality hand-knotted Bokhara carpets, however, is the hidden symbols present within the magnificent geometric details of their patterns. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces. All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly.
